Copper Base Casting
Copper Base Alloys for Precision Investment Casting
Copper-base alloys have a predominant component of copper and are typically classified as brasses or bronzes. Brasses are copper alloys where zinc is the primary alloying addition. Bronzes are alloys in which tin is typically the main alloying element. They are commonly used for plumbing, marine and electrical applications because they provide excellent corrosion resistence, high thermal conductivity and toughness.
Additional benefits of using copper-base alloys include:
- Good castability
- Favorable mechanical properties
- Excellent machinability
- Friction and wear characteristics
Precision Investment Casting for Copper-Base Alloys
Investment casting is an effective and efficient process because it allows for tight tolerances and is capable of producing intricate cores and passages. Engineered Precision Casting Company, Inc. pours over 75 ferrous and non-ferrous alloys in sizes up to 16 x 16 in. and weights up to 150 lbs.
Our investment casting process is performed in-house using a master heat approval system. We also provide a range of secondary and support services including welding, finishing, CNC machining and heat treating to deliver a complete product that meets your exact requirements.
